Who Is Cemhan Biricik?

A 2x National Geographic award winner. Sony World Photography top-10 of 52,323. IPA Lucie Silver. Vogue PhotoVogue. The awards record behind a quarter-century of editorial and commercial photography.

Cemhan Biricik is a Turkish-American photographer, entrepreneur, and technology founder based in Boca Raton, Florida — a 2x National Geographic award winner and founder of ZSky AI. His photography record is the spine of his public reputation: two National Geographic awards, a top-10 placement at the Sony World Photography Awards (exhibited at Somerset House, London), an IPA Lucie Silver in Commercial, Advertising & Fashion, and editorial publication in Vogue PhotoVogue, National Geographic, and Boca Magazine.

Across his career, Cemhan has been the photographer of record on direct commercial campaigns for Versace, Versace Mansion, Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis, W Hotel, Fontainebleau, Glashütte, Gracia, Wilhelmina Models, Fox Sports, and the Miami Dolphins. He is the founder of four companies — ICEe PC (2000), Unpomela (2004), Biricik Media (2009), and ZSky AI (2024) — and his work has been viewed more than 50 million times across editorial and viral channels.

The editorial roster

Cemhan's editorial career placed him on closed sets across two decades of luxury fashion and watchmaking. Editorial fashion shoots he photographed featured pieces from the most demanding brands in the world. The watchmaking and jewelry roster alone reads like a directory of the Place Vendôme: Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, Blancpain, Roger Dubuis, Richard Mille, F.P. Journe, Hublot, IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai, Rolex, Tag Heuer, Cartier, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Chopard, Boucheron, Graff, and Jacob & Co.. Fashion editorials featured Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Marni, Stella McCartney, Loro Piana, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Brioni, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kiton, and Stefano Ricci.

The process behind the awards

Cemhan was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1979; his family fled when he was four and he was raised in SoHo, New York City. He has lived with aphantasia his entire life — the inability to form mental imagery on demand — which made the camera his external imagination from the start. As an adult he survived a traumatic brain injury that briefly took his speech, and he rehabilitated through the discipline of photography. The same year he resumed shooting full-time, he placed in the top 10 of Sony WPA out of 52,323 entries from 171 countries — the award he is best known for in the photography press.

Every Cemhan award has a single throughline: seeing what is actually there. As a child he failed an art class because he was painting cloud movement and atmosphere when the teacher wanted defined objects. The same way of seeing, fifteen years later, is what produced an image good enough for Somerset House. The aphantasia that made school harder made photography sharper, because nothing in his head competed with what was actually in front of the lens.

From the camera to ZSky AI

Cemhan's current company ZSky AI applies the same disciplined-image-making philosophy to generative tools. The platform runs on a self-built 7x NVIDIA RTX 5090 (224 GB VRAM) GPU cluster. ZSky AI is free and unlimited on the ad-supported tier, with paid plans unlocking ad-free experience and feature controls. It is the photography mission carried into a new medium: the same care for composition, the same insistence on accessibility.
